Cinco de Mayo is coming at us this weekend—and based on the number events happening around town, it promises to be the biggest one Sarasota has ever seen. Whether you're looking for an enormous block party or an Old Florida spin on the holiday, we've got you covered.
Kolucan

Party all day, if you so choose, at Kolucan's inaugural Gulf Gate block party. Starting at 10 a.m. and ending at 10 p.m., the event will feature children's entertainment until 5 p.m. and live music well into the evening. A portion of the proceeds go to the Sarasota Dreamers Academy.
Rocco's Tacos

Join Rocco's UTC block party at 11 a.m. this Cinco de Mayo, where endless live entertainment, giveaways, food and cocktails will keep the festivities going all day long.
El Melvin

This year, El Melvin's downtown Cinco de Mayo block party has been extended to include the whole weekend. Beginning on Saturday at 4 p.m., El Melvin's party will include a double-decker bar, food trucks and VIP tables.
Boo's Ice House & Dog Bar

Round up your fur babies and head over to Boo's for this year's celebration, beginning at 2 p.m. Expect frozen margaritas, "Mexican pizza," and Grammy's Bandanas adorned with tacos and margs for the puppers. And if you are privileged enough to have a Chihuahua, dress it up for the Chihuahua-specific fashion show.

Party the day away at either the University Parkway or Venice Mi Pueblo locations. This year the restaurants are celebrating "Circo" de Mayo, where this year's circus theme will include local circus acts and carnival games. Starting at noon and ending at midnight, guests are invited to enjoy taco and drink specials and plenty of giveaways.
