Sports Medicine Specialist Bestowed 'Baseball Service Award'

Board-certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist Dr. Arthur Valadie with Coastal Orthopedics recently received a 20 years of service recognition award from the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society (PBATS). The award is given to team physicians with major and minor league baseball teams who have dedicated 20 years of service. Valadie has acted as the team doctor for The Gulf Coast League Pirates over the past 20 years. He assists with preseason and postseason player evaluations, performs medical procedures on players who require surgery and rehabilitation in Bradenton, and manages the care of all the players that come through for camps, workouts and rehabilitation. He specializes in sports medicine, arthroscopy and knee and shoulder reconstruction, is the physician president of Coastal Orthopedics and also serves as the sports medicine physician to the U.S. Soccer Team, IMG Academy and State College of Florida.
