Believe it or not, Sarasota just got even more beautiful. "Avenue of Art" is bringing more color and joy to the historic Burns Square district in downtown Sarasota. Artists are decorating sidewalk tiles, filling them with everything from baseball players to beach scenes and postcards. This event is sponsored by the Chalk Festival, but instead of chalk, artists are painting the sidewalk.

The art stretches for many blocks, but begins at 543 S. Pineapple Ave., Sarasota. Though not all the artworks are signed, QR codes describing each painter and his or her work should be available on the sidewalk soon. The paintings will be left out through the end of September, giving everyone plenty of time to come check it out.
