New golf fashions for fall 2009 will hit stores across the country in July, and we’ve already scouted Sarasota’s club scene for previews. We found styles from modern punk to retro preppie in comfy high-tech materials smart enough to wear on and off the fairway.

Celebrity Classic

Go Hollywood with a new take on the golfing trouser ($130) by celeb-endorsed Modern Amusement, a hip L.A. brand. Add a cool Peter Millar micro-stripe golf shirt ($95) for a winning score. The Met Fashion House Day Spa & Salon, 35 S. Boulevard of Presidents (941) 388-3991.

TAG that Tiger

Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota’s golf shop (Golf World ranks it No. 1 in Florida) sells exclusive gear like TAG Heuer’s two-ounce, hidden-clasp Professional Golf Watch (designed and worn by Tiger Woods; $800 to $4,500). Ritz-Carlton Members Golf Club, 15140 70th Terrace E., Bradenton (941) 309-2900.

Driving Range?

It’s worth a drive to Prime Outlets in Ellenton for deep discounts at the brand-new Golf Mania. The TaylorMade Burner Draw driver on Golf Digest’s 2009 Hot List is already a runaway best seller ($185). Golf Mania Prime Outlets, 5513 Factory Shops Blvd., Suite 215, Ellenton (941) 721-1717.

Catwalk Cult Designer Jamie Sadok has a cult following of fans (a.k.a. “Jamie Junkies”) who collect her artful, rule-defying golf clothes. Sarasota fashionistas will adore the moisture-wicking comfort of her new punk-rock Billy Idol Fury line (from $65). Edwin Watts Golf, 4014 S. Tamiami Trail (941) 922-1006.

Founders’ Keepers

The Founders Club pro shop is brimming with classy logo gear, from best-selling men’s Bugatchi Uomo golf shirts (starting at $64) to women members’ fave “stick” bag: Sun Mountain’s Superlight, weighing in at a mere 3.5 pounds ($145). Founders Club, 3800 Golf Hall Drive, Sarasota (941) 371-9720.

High Tee High-fashion Nicole Miller prints now adorn her very first signature golf bags ($275). Replete with all the bells and whistles, from detachable cosmetic bag to rain hood, they’re available as shown or customizable for teams and charity events at www.gloveit.com.

Club Couture

Chic DKNY Golf fashions ($65 to $165), inspired by Donna Karan’s couture collection in cut, color and prints, are among the exclusive high-tech fashion “links” between runway and fairway at the pro shops at Longboat Key Club & Resort, 361 Gulf of Mexico Drive (941) 387-1632.

Don’t forget to…

Keep cool in Vineyard Vine’s classic seersucker ($125) golf skorts at Reagan Paige, 5 Avenue of the Flowers, Longboat Key (941) 383-4000.

Ensure your future golf star’s success with Baby Footjoy’s blue- or pink-and-white infant shoes ($24.99). Golf USA, 3570 Clark Road (941) 926-2220.

Treat your feet to the new “it” golf shoe: Crocs Ace Golf ($39.99), with
circulation nubs to stimulate blood flow. To order, visit www.progolf.com.

Color your green with “Life is Good” hot pink Slazenger golf balls ($5 per sleeve; $20 a dozen). Jake’s Downtown, 1463 Main St. (941) 955-5253.
