If there’s one thing we Sarasotans love to do, it’s brag about the weather. So when Pat Nebel and her husband, Gary, were taking their regular Sunday stroll down Siesta Beach right before Christmas last year, she couldn’t resist taking a photo for a girlfriend in Wisconsin. “It was a delightful day with that beautiful blue sky; you can see it’s breezy and also warm, since the guy has no shirt on—and it doesn’t hurt that he’s a hunk,” she says with a laugh. She e-mailed the photo with the message, “Look what you’re missing!” A few weeks later, her friend arrived for a visit.
