Sometimes our city seems to be transforming before our very eyes, as new homes, shopping centers and condo towers pop up, and cherished old landmarks disappear. But there are places where the old and new co-exist beautifully, as Peter Acker shows us in this photograph. Under the sleek and modern Ringling Bridge, illuminated in sheets of high-tech light, nestles rustic Hart’s Landing, the cozy bait-and-tackle shop where generations of fishermen have stocked up and swapped stories.
