Every room is as unique as the people who live there, as recent Ringling College graduate Ian Dean makes clear in his photographic series about living spaces. Dean stages real-life rooms—in this case with a mix of disposable mass consumer items and more personal, nostalgic trinkets—in such a way that they become snapshots of a family’s history. Even without sharing a meal with the inhabitants of this Indian Beach dining room, we already feel we know them.
