Photographer Jim Dohms’ HDR technique, which combines three identical photos at different settings to create an ultra-realistic image rich in detail, perfectly suits his subject, Sarasota’s New Pass Grill. Like a sculptural installation, the beloved burger and bait shop is assembled out of old timber, signs ("Alexandra" is the name of the owner’s daughter) and found objects, which pulse with life and color in this shot, part of Dohms’ "Funky Florida" series.
