We’ve been trend-spotting at two of the most important home furnishings trade shows in the world: The International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York and High Point Market in North Carolina. Everywhere we saw a new reverence for nature: for tree limbs, leaves, insects, and furniture shaped like flower petals. Rustic chic is the new buzzword—handcrafted, hand-hewn, reclaimed, and sometimes trending toward a 21st-century iteration of the industrial era’s antidote to technology: Craftsman style.
