Florida Studio Theatre’s Richard Hopkins will welcome fans to the grand opening of the expanded Gomperz Theatre at the Next Act Gala on Nov. 29. The theater now includes a full-service café and bar along with new lobby space, restrooms and more seats. With the building’s expansion (and a new cabaret space opening in January), says Hopkins, “We can run shows longer, which means we can keep prices lower, which means we can expand our audience.” They can also accommodate shows with bigger casts or large-scale multimedia effects. “Now we have a fantastic facility to work in, and it’s fantastic for our audience, too,” says Hopkins.
