Strengthening Jewish Life in our Community

"As our Jewish community grows, it is vital that we create a place for all ages to celebrate, learn, and remember together.” - Shepard Englander, CEO

Presented by Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee September 6, 2023

Caring for the Vulnerable: We support those who need us most from
emergency response following Hurricane Ian to donating supplies and
funds to Ukrainian refugees.

Holocaust Education: We partner with local schools to combat rising antisemitism by providing programming and a comprehensive Holocaust Teachers Guide and online Resource Center.

Israel: We promote advocacy and activism, present cultural programs,
and lead mission trips for adults and teens to Israel.

Youth & Family Programs: We create positive learning opportunities for
youth, ensuring a vibrant Jewish future.

Community Security: We build a safer community for all through Safe
SRQ, our regional security initiative, providing instruction to schools, police departments, museums, and nonprofit organizations.

Community Engagement: The Jewish News reaches 36,000 readers monthly; we connect hundreds of volunteers to community organizations; and provide cultural programming that engages thousands of Jews with their culture and each other.

  • Our Community Security Director has trained more than 1100 people on situational awareness, countering active threats, first aid, internet safety, and how to avoid economic fraud in the past year.
