Seeing an opportunity through the lack of a local, independent real estate company dedicated to exceptional customer service, Michael Saunders decided to fill the void herself by founding Michael Saunders & Company nearly 43 years ago in 1976. Beginning in a single small office on St. Armands Circle, the company has expanded to 24 branch offices throughout Sarasota, Manatee, and Charlotte counties. Our earnest beginnings have blossomed into a corporate culture where character, integrity and good works speak for themselves; and every customer interaction should lead to a rewarding real estate experience.

1976: Michael Saunders opens Michael Saunders & Company on St. Armands Circle, Boulevard of the Presidents, catering to elite waterfront luxury homes in Sarasota.

1997: Michael Saunders & Company joins Leading Real Estate Companies of the World, retaining our independent ownership with global connection and local roots.

2003: Returning to Sarasota after several years of international entrepreneurship, Drayton Saunders, Michael’s son, joins the family company. He now serves as President.

2019: Michael Saunders & Company is known as the luxury market leader throughout Sarasota, Manatee, and Charlotte counties.
