Calusa Brewing and PigFish Are Opening This Weekend
Hallelujah! Calusa Brewing’s new taproom is opening this Friday, Nov. 3. The long-anticipated space, which is also home to chef Steve Phelps’ new sandwich shop PigFish, will be in the old White Buffalo space at 5377 McIntosh Road in Sarasota. The taproom opens its doors at noon and will feature food from Mouthole BBQ until 5 p.m., after which sandwiches and other delicious fare from PigFish will be available until 9 p.m.
The owners of Calusa Brewing and PigFish co-owner Steve Phelps met through Phelps’ Towles Court restaurant, Indigenous, where Calusa’s beloved Zote IPA has been a top seller for years. Phelps, who is well-known for his commitment to using sustainable seafood, has crafted a menu that reflects that ethos—including hush puppies, the signature PigFish sandwich (pictured above).
Calusa Brewing opens on Nov. 3 at 12 p.m. PigFish will open at 5 p.m., the same day. Both are located at 5377 McIntosh Road. For more information about Calusa Brewing, click here. For more information about PigFish, click here.
