The Players Theatre, built in 1936, once held only 246 seats. The original building, shown above, was replaced with the larger, renovated version we know today, which seats about 500 guests. It is still a noted Sarasota attraction, and holds many popular shows throughout the season (many of which you can read about in arts editor Kay Kipling’s "On Stage" blog).
