The Elizabeth Moore Sarasota Open is upping the ante.

Held at Payne Park from April 8 to April 16, the tennis tournament will go from a 100 point level to a 125 Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Challenger event. This requires an increase in prize money from $125,000 to $175,000, which will likely draw higher-caliber tour players to participate.

Sarasota philanthropist Elizabeth Moore, title sponsor of the tour, was happy to provide additional prize money.

“I love Sarasota and I love tennis,” Moore says. "So it’s a natural fit for me to do all I can to ensure this tournament is here for years to come. We have a long-term plan for making the Sarasota Open a much larger ATP tour event with greater social and economic impact to the Community.”

Previous winners include Frances Tiafoe, Kai Nishikori, James Blake and Nick Kyrgios.
