Samaritan Counseling Services Receives Funding for People Recovering from Hurricane Ian

Plus, the Tidewell Foundation held its annual Linens and Love drive and more.

The Boys & Girls Clubs  of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties recently received a $50,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Sarasota County.

Samaritan Counseling Services was recently awarded $79,000 by the Suncoast Disaster Recovery Fund of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County. The grant will support mental health counseling for individuals and families recovering from the long-term effects of Hurricane Ian. 

The Manatee Literacy Council is thrilled to announce an $11,928 grant from the William G. and Marie Selby Foundation. The funding will allow the council to significantly enhance its Adult English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) programs by providing laptops for in-person classes and acquiring educational software to support continued learning outside the classroom.

The Community Foundation of Sarasota County recently granted $50,000 to Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties in support of long-term reconstruction efforts at the Steven and Marjolaine Townsend Campus, home of the Gene Matthews Boys & Girls Club.

Neal Communities has pledged $500,000 to Hope Village of Manatee, a development of Help to Home, Inc. The 53-unit housing community will provide temporary housing for low-income families with minor children who are homeless or threatened with homelessness. 

The Tidewell Foundation recently held its fourth annual Linens and Love drive and had its largest haul yet with 38 drop-off locations. In partnership with Dignity Memorial, which hosted several drop-off areas, Tidewell collected all of the donated items this week and will begin distributing them to areas in the most need.
