It’s unusual to find an apartment in Sarasota—or anywhere–that has virtually every amenity a house has (except a pesky lawn to mow), but this penthouse in Golden Gate Point’s La Bellasara seems to fit the bill. It’s enormous (6,066 square feet) and comes with a 65-foot boat dock, a two-car garage, a dog run, a home theater, wine cellar, and four terraces, including one with a summer kitchen.
It also has what may be the best views in town. Directly in front of you is the downtown marina, with the city skyline behind it. Turn you head and you can see out to the gulf. The building itself is right on the water, with 455 feet of bayfront.
The design theme of Bellasara is a sort of “Venetian palazzo” look. It was finished in 2006 and is one of the great “boom time” buildings, when they poured on the luxury. This penthouse has elaborate interior details, including high, coffered ceilings, marble floors, an enormous kitchen, and a paneled bar with stained glass accents.
Half of the penthouse is taken up with the master suite, which includes his and hers offices, plus his and hers baths. Her bath is 20 feet long and comes with a 300 square foot closet. He and she will have to share the sauna, though—there’s only one of those.
464 Golden Gate Point, PH9c; priced at $5,295,000. For more information call Peg Davant of Premier Sotheby’s at (941) 356-4552.
