Siesta Key Beach was once again recognized as the best beach in Florida by Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best. It was also recognized as the second-best beach in the United States and ranked in the top 10 for best in the world.

Of course, those of us who live here already know how special Siesta Key Beach is. While most beaches are made from pulverized coral, Siesta is 99 percent pure quartz crystals. Plus, the beach attracts everyone from young families to senior sunseekers—including those who want to experience the beach's famous drum circle, which has been happening every Sunday evening since 1996.

“We're honored Siesta Key Beach is once again recognized on Tripadvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Award list,” Erin Duggan, president and CEO of Visit Sarasota County, said in a press release. “With the powdery soft sand along crystal blue waters, we can’t wait for visitors, both new and returning, to experience the best beach in Florida."

Tripadvisor's Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best title celebrates the highest level of excellence in travel. It’s awarded to places that receive a high volume of above-and-beyond reviews and opinions from the Tripadvisor community over a 12-month period. Out of Tripadvisor's 8 million listings, fewer than 1 percent of them achieve this milestone.
