It was a beautiful day with clear skies when Kristen and Adam Hart said, “I do” during an elegant waterfront wedding held at The Field Club.
How and when did you meet Adam?
Adam and I met during medical school. We were friends for a long time before we began dating, which was great because we already knew so much about each other!
What is your favorite thing about Adam?
What I love about Adam is how much fun he is. He always knows how to make me smile and brighten my day.
What made The Field Club the perfect venue for you?
We loved the field club because of its beautiful outdoor space right on the water’s edge. It was the perfect place for our ceremony.
Was there anything about planning a wedding that you found to be particularly difficult? Was there anything particularly fun?
The hardest part about planning was trying to do everything from a distance. Living so far away, I had to make a lot of decisions without seeing the final product. The best part was picking out the dress!
Do you have a favorite photo from the wedding day?
One of my favorite photos is Adam and I walking down the aisle after being married. I think they did a wonderful job of capturing how happy we are!
What moments from your wedding day really stand out in your mind?
There isn’t one moment that stands out because the whole day was so fun. We had such a great time with family and friends and we couldn’t believe how quickly it was over!
We also asked Kristen’s wedding planner, Maria Brady from Choreographed Events, about her experience in helping plan the wedding.
What aspect of Kristen’s wedding did you have the most fun planning?
I loved all aspects of planning Kristen’s wedding. If I had to choose one it would be transforming the beautiful dining room at the Field Club into a ethereal and romantic setting.
What were some of your inspirations while helping plan this wedding? How did these inspirations influence the decor?
A lot of my inspiration comes from my clients. No two couples are the same, nor should their weddings be. Kristen and Adam’s vision was something surreal, romantic and elegant. I love being able to create original, and inspired, events that really represent the couple, no cookie cutter weddings!
What were your responsibilities as a planner during the day of the wedding?
Through the planning process I am the producer…on the day of the wedding I become the director and oversee each and every detail. A wedding is like live theater … you have no chance for a retake. My day starts very early fielding phone calls, overseeing deliveries, setup, and then working behind the scenes to make everything appear as if it fell into place by itself.
What were some of your favorite moments of the wedding?
I loved the expression on Kristen’s face when she saw the dining room, completely transformed, for the first time. And the look of complete joy on her parent’s faces after the ceremony. I love a great party and to watch all the hard work come to fruition, throughout the event, creates many ‘ best ‘ moments for me.
As a planner, how does it feel to see everything come together in the end?
Being able to see the couple’s vision come to life, beyond their expectations, is tremendously fulfilling. It makes the hard work, and sore feet, totally worth it. And the added bonus is the wonderful relationships I develop with the bride, groom, and their families.
