Fashion Statement

By staff March 1, 2007

What are you wearing? A jean jacket and tunic tank by Christian Audigier from Stitch, skinny jeans by 575 from Beau Monde, a knit scarf from L. Boutique and high-heeled black pumps by BCBG.

What is your fashion philosophy? I try for classy with a hint of edginess, yet make it look simple.

What’s your trademark? I like feminine dresses: clean lines that show off curves. I also love very deep necklines or a halter top with a very low back.

What’s the biggest mistake people make today? Not knowing how to balance trends with personal style. Choose a focal point. It can be anything—a belt, jewelry, even shoes. I switch all the time. I’ll wear an interesting belt or big earrings with very simple clothes.

Any favorite products? I love Physiodermy for skin care and Pureology for hair—it really helps you keep your color.

How do you stay in shape? Stay active! I love to eat but I really watch how much. I walk in the morning or work out at home. You just gotta do it.

Where do you go when you go out in Sarasota? Pacific Rim and Café Epicure, and I think the best Italian sandwich in town is at the Main Bar sandwich shop.

Where do you shop? I love downtown. Stitch, Lotus, L. Boutique, Beau Monde. And I also love Saks Fifth Avenue and Dillards.

What’s the best gift you ever got? My son, who’s now eight, once gave me a 25-cent plastic necklace out of a machine and I still love it.

What do you like best about Sarasota? The charming mix of old-style homes with brand-new buildings, the warm weather and the warm people.
