This list will introduce you to the city's top 100 luxury retailers, with information about the specialties, point of view and personality of each store. Luxury is an elusive commodity, of course, but to qualify for our Platinum 100 list, stores had to offer exceptional ambience, exclusive wares, incomparable service-or a combination of all three. Sometimes the luxury lies in finding something, no matter what the price, that simply makes your heart sing. We found such havens of retail luxury all over town; unfortunately, we had to stop at 100.

Agnes & Rafael Gallery Boutique: Berlin and Munich are becoming fashion capitals, and it shows in this tiny on St. Armands Circle boutique, one of a handful of stores in the country authorized to carry the stunning German couture line Oska. Brooks Brothers: This clubby outpost of the country's oldest clothing store (c. 1818) sells everything to equip the preppy/golf lifestyle, with an emphasis on cotton and cashmere sweaters, classic blazers, suiting separates and chinos. Designing Women Boutique: Sarasota socialites and patrons from as far off as Palm Beach are among this elegant boutique's frequent shoppers. The clientele donates or consigns brands like Chanel, Adolfo and St. Johns often after only one or two seasons. Foxy Lady: Mother-and-son team Bryan and Lorry Eible offer two locations for complete wardrobing, from day to evening. Kelietza:This sliver of a shop is spare in decor, but brimming with avant garde international fashion finds.
