Venice Art Center. An all-media exhibit of Flora and Fauna continues here through Nov. 5; it’s followed by a members’ only show titled Show Us Your Best, Nov. 12 through Dec. 10. 485-7136.

Selby Gallery. This Ringling College gallery space continues to present the annual Faculty Exhibition, Part I, through Nov. 13, with more artwork by staff members and faculty on view at the Willis A. Smith Construction Inc. Galleries on the campus. Opening Nov. 19 to continue through Dec. 8 is Part II of the exhibition, showcasing works in computer animation, fine arts, game art and design, interior design and the CORE studio program. 359-7563.

Art Center Sarasota. The Fiber of Our Being: Uncommon Threads opens here Nov. 18 to run through Jan. 8. On view are works by five culturally diverse women (including Ruth Adler Schnee and Meg Pierce) who have expressed themselves through textiles. Ringling Museum of Art. Continuing on view here through Jan. 2: Threads of Gold: Renaissance Tapestries from the Kunsthistorisches Museum of Vienna. Through Jan. 30 you can also see Splendid Treasures of the Turkomen Tribes from Central Asia; and through Dec. 13 in the Circus Museum’s Tibbals Learning Center, With the Greatest of Ease, posters of amazing circus feats from the 19th and 20th centuries. 359-5700.

Pioneer Day. The Historical Society of Sarasota County brings together historic crafts demonstrations, local authors and antique dealers, live music and history tours and talks from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 13 in venues including the Crocker Memorial Church and the Bidwell-Wood House. Music

La Cenerentola. Rossini’s comic opera about a Cinderella-type heroine and her prince continues through Nov. 10 at the Sarasota Opera House. 366-8450.

Benise: The Spanish Guitar. Think Riverdance with a Latin beat, and you’ll get some idea of this show featuring flamenco dancers, violins and yes, the Spanish guitar. At 8 p.m. Nov. 9 at Van Wezel. 953-3368.

Sarasota Orchestra Masterworks. Violinist Vadim Gluzman joins the orchestra for a program including Adams’ Short Ride in a Fast Machine, Ravel’s Tzigane and R. Strauss’ Dance of the Seven Veils from Salome, among other works. Nov. 12, 13 and 14 at the Van Wezel. 953-3434.

Artist Series of Sarasota. Bonnie & Clyde.
