If you weren’t able to attend the 14th annual Pug Parade—sponsored by Sarasota Magazine and benefiting the Humane Society of Sarasota County—have no fear: We have video from the event coming soon. Until then, here’s our recap of what was truly a pugtastic event.

This year, the event was held at posh St. Armands Circle Park, with the holiday-appropriate theme of “St. Pugtrick’s Day.” More than 45 pugs of all ages (and their humans) registered to walk in the parade, and many other dog owners hung around to watch the festivities with their pups in the sunny springtime weather. The celebrity judge and emcee was ABC7 weatherman John Scalzi, and this year’s pug costumes were hilariously varied—everything from flowers to Irish dancers to gators to leprechauns to, yes, Charlie Sheen (complete with messy wig and red sweater that read Winning!).

Pet vendors were also stationed around the park, which meant that before and after the parade, dogs and dog owners could enter raffles and get information from a variety of businesses—everything from luxury pet hotels to pet photographers to training programs.

And as for the winners, Chaz (a.k.a. Charlie Sheen) won for Most Humorous costume; Toby, in costume as a king and escorted in a wagon of fruit, won Best in Show; Lily Bell, dressed as a giant flower, won Miss Congeniality; and pug participant Mr. Bentley won Mr. Congeniality.
