Sarasota now has its own uptown supper club, with Lady Jazz (she won’t divulge her real name) performing Friday and Saturday nights at downtown’s Divino Restaurant. Even when the restaurant is busiest, the New Orleans-born vocalist can deliver a song that seizes everybody’s attention.

"It’s like you can hear a pin drop," she says. Her song list, she says, comes "from divine forces and the audience." With a resumé that includes two CDs and touring nightclubs in Asia, she says she’s happy, at least for now, "blessing audiences with the gift of music" right here in Sarasota.
