Siesta Key Condo: Sandy Cove

By Robert Plunket October 5, 2011

If you’re looking for a big condo on Siesta Key with an incredible view but an affordable price, here it is. Located in Sandy Cove, a 1970s development of villas and midrises, it’s on the fifth floor and the panorama over Big Pass to Lido, Bird Key, and downtown is a guaranteed “wow” moment.

It’s large—over 1,800 square feet—with three bedrooms and three baths. The spectacular living room is 32 feet long, with a vaulted ceiling, a fireplace, and a circular stairway up a loft bedroom (or den). The sliding doors can be pulled back so that whole apartment is open to the breezes, and there are several little porches and patios scattered about.

I don’t believe it’s ever been updated. Luckily, the architecture—by Frank Folsom Smith—is top notch, and the changes would be minimal, mostly just cosmetic stuff. The Village is a short walk away, and the community has its own beach. This is a great example of the buys that are currently available. The place has a million bucks written all over it, but the asking price is $549,000.
