STARTING TO CLICK : RCAD Fashion Photogs
Shannon Soule
If you’ve been following this blog you probably know by now that I love a good collaboration, especially when it comes to fashion and art. Tip of the hat to Terry McKee, who coordinated a five-pronged collab for a Nuovo Salon Group and Saks Fifth Avenue combined anniversary celebration, benefitting the Sarasota Museum of Art, which featured an exhibit of work by the Ringling College of Arts and Design’s Fashion Photography students.

According to Terry, things really started to click: “It was a perfect synchronistic collision!” The result was an impressive showing of student work with selective input from Professor Anju Kulkarni. Armed with passion for the challenge, students took complete creative control, from model selection to composition to location scouting to wardrobe to Dior makeup styling with Saks and hair design with Nuovo. Each pic ultimately told an editorial fashion story that reflected the photographer's personal style and highlighted his or her technical skills. We may just see the names of some of these lenswomen and lensmen in an Anna Wintour publication someday…

“What I didn't realize was the effect this adventure would have on my team, the RCAD students and the Saks team,” remarked Terry. “Amazingly rewarding.”
