Ribeye and shoestrong fries at Fleming's.
It started with a great grilled Reuben at Lucky Pelican and ended with a bone-in prime ribeye and wedge salad at Fleming’s. In between was pure yumminess all week long (and yes, great hospitality mixed in as well).
The 100 Mile Dinner at Indigenous was a locavore's dream.
Thanks to Edible Sarasota for a wonderful experience at Indigenous. The 100 Mile Dinner represented ingredients that were sourced within 100 miles, including a blend of local seafood and Mote Marine caviar and sturgeon. The tables were set in spectacular Napa Valley style--long wood tables glistened with candles and wine glasses and simple elements, such as kumquats in a jar. The service was gentle and kind, and the simplicity of being outside and enjoying your food along with the chef makes for a magical experience.
One day last week--I don’t quite remember which--brought us to Pho Cali for my fix of delicious Vietnamese pancake with pork and shrimp, and of course a No. 79 with grilled pork. OK, so I ordered fried rice to take home for my breakfast the next day--sue me--I am a true food-aholic.
Now I can remember the date of the surprise party at Eat Here for Tracy Freeman--and that amazing cake bestowed upon a fellow foodie and culinarian. The cake's baker actually used her pasta machine to make the fondant look like fettuccini--and it worked, I craved alfredo the rest of the evening.
Cheese heads Tommy and Molly Klauber.
Ah, and then there was the interactive cheese dinner at Polo Grill with Tommy and Molly Klauber. If you have never been to one of Tommy’s dinners, what are you waiting for? The Bloody Marys with cheese garnish flowed, while tablemates took turns whipping up courses with Tommy’s guidance from the stage. Matt Orr really had it going on and was ready for The Next Food Network Star. But watch out--Tina Freeman looked pretty sassy with those fresh strawberry crepes.

The finished product.
All in all it was a stupendous week--great company at meals prepared by some of our favorite chefs and personalities, and a whole lotta good service!
OK, OK...there was pizza at Mediterraneo, too...
...and a fabulous Asian salad at Stonewood Grill.
