Ringling Museum of Art. Sarasota Orchestra Great Escapes. La Bamba heralds the Latin rhythms of this Great Escapes season finale, with performances May 2-5 at Holley Hall. 953-3434.

The Gershwins Remembered. Soprano Mary Elizabeth Williams, tenor Chauncy Parker and bass-baritone Kenneth Nichols team with pianist Bob Constantino to present this evening of the music and lyrics of the fabulous Gershwin brothers, in an Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota event. Hamlet, Prince of Cuba. A new version of Shakespeare’s tragedy, set in Cuba and starring Frankie Alvarez as the troubled prince. Continuing through May 6 at Asolo Repertory Theatre. 351-8000.

The Full Monty. Six down-on-their-luck steelworkers bare all to boost their incomes and their self-esteems in this musical based on the 1997 film, continuing through May 6 (possible extension through May 13) at the Players Theatre. Info: 365-2494.

Sarasota Festival of New Plays. Florida Studio Theatre’s annual fest this year includes not only the play reading series featuring three new works (May 7, 14 and 21) and the Under Six and Young Playwrights Festival (ongoing through May 12) but Robert Pinsky’s Favorite Poem Project, with the former United States Poet Laureate emceeing an event (in partnership with Bookstore 1) at the Keating Theatre where Sarasotans will read aloud their favorite poems, at 2 p.m. May 11.
