What would the Fourth of July be without fireworks? Here are some top spots to see them in Sarasota and the surrounding area.

Sarasota: The annual Fireworks Spectacular over Sarasota Bay starts at 9 p.m. Best viewing at Bayfront Park.

Siesta Key: The display starts about 9:15 p.m. just north of the volleyball courts on Siesta Beach; best viewing south and along Crescent Beach or from the Intracoastal Waterway.

Venice: The rockets start firing after sunset from the south Venice Jetty; best viewing along Venice Beach or Nokomis Beach.

Anna Maria Island: See that red glare just after dark from the beach at the Beachhouse Restaurant, July 3. You can also see fireworks on July 4 at the Sandbar restaurant on Pine Avenue, just after dark.

Bradenton: The display takes place after dark July 4 over the Manatee River.
