South Korean artist Jae-Hyo Lee conveys a profound reverence for nature in ‘Lotus’ - a towering conical form meticulously constructed of charred Korean pine. Lee is recognized worldwide for his elegant large-scale sculptures created with organic materials such as wood, leaves, branches and stone. Through labor-intensive processes Lee shapes these media into highly stylized forms often finishing his burntwood surfaces by embedding hundreds even thousands of bent, steel nails and bolts.
