After having lunch on City Island (at the Old Salty Dog), illustrator John Pirman noticed a boat dealer's towering boat rack, holding rows of new boats for sale lined up like bright and shiny toys on a shelf. "They created a rhythm of shape and color, with an ICE freezer punctuation mark topping off the coolness factor," says Pirman.
