Single Family Residence: Anna Maria Island
Traction Architecture
(Slideshow)

This project reflects Sarasota’s past while embracing the region’s future. With its material simplicity, human scale, and connections to the landscape, the design references the iconic modernism of the Sarasota School. At the same time, the home is very much of its time--a celebration of the laid-back Sarasota lifestyle with spaces to accommodate diverse activities, from large family gatherings to solitary relaxation to children’s playtime. As a home that is both environmentally responsible and storm resilient, this project provides a model for the future of the Gulf Coast, where elevated structures and sustainable design will become essential to maintaining the coastal life that we love.
