Summer is the rainy season here in Florida. Mostly hitting in the afternoon, we also do see our share of night storms.  The warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico are conducive to creating these amazing clouds.  Fun fact: Florida reportedly gets more lightning strikes per year than any other state.
