In order to document the health of the oceans, National Geographic photojournalist Brian Skerry for 30 years has captured images of many of the mysterious creatures that live beneath the sea. Skerry has spent more than 10,000 hours underwater photographing all over the world, from tropical coral reefs to the waters beneath the polar ice cap. Besides National Geo, his work has appeared in People, Sports Illustrated, Audubon and many other publications. More than 50 of his photographs are now featured in the exhibit Ocean Soul, based on his 2011 book of the same name, at the South Florida Museum through June 7.
