The newly restored building that serves as headquarters for the Center for Architecture Sarasota was originally designed in 1960 by William Rupp and Joe Farrell. As John Pirman was passing by the building, which is now called the McCulloch Pavilion, he spotted two girls whizzing by on skateboards. “That sight reflected the youth the building has recently recaptured,” he says. “It’s a fine example of how Sarasota’s modern architecture can be repurposed and used by everyone.”
