Sarasota’s vibrant arts and culture scene is an integral part of life in the city, but the sheer number of events and shows to attend can be pricey. Thankfully, the Sarasota Culture Collective allows locals between the ages of 21 and 39 to “experience the arts” through a membership program that provides tickets to concerts, shows and events throughout the season.

For just $125, or $240 for a dual membership, members receive tickets to one performance of Beatsville at the Asolo Rep, Dearly Departed at the Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe, Madama Butterfly at the Sarasota Opera, Ashton, de Valois & Robbins at The Sarasota Ballet, SEESAW at The Ringling, Million Dollar Quartet at Florida Studio Theatre, and the Music of Frank Sinatra at the Sarasota Orchestra. These shows span from January until May 2017, with a holiday party next month. A membership also guarantees access to meet-ups prior to or following the shows, hosted by the Arts and Culture Alliance of Sarasota, which often feature cocktails, appetizers, and the opportunity to meet with the actors, musicians and directors behind the performances.

The Culture Collective is organized by the Arts and Cultural Alliance, a non-profit that promotes arts and culture in the Sarasota community. “The goal of the program from the very bringing was to offer exposure and experience in the classical arts and culture to younger community members,” says Jim Shirley, Arts and Cultural Alliance executive director. He has had the opportunity to observe the impact of Culture Collective, and noted the community that has formed among its members. “They are building communities with each other, they like forming friendships and business networks with each other, in addition to gaining exposure to the local arts.”

The deadline for membership is Nov. 18, 2016, and the registration can be done online here. Membership is limited to three years, members must be within the ages of 21 and 39, and members can bring additional guests to the events by reserving a seat two days prior.
