If you’re looking for a great mid-century modern home that you can actually afford, be sure and take a look at this house in a nice quiet well-located neighborhood in Bradenton. It dates back to 1962 and has these striking brick “fins” on each side that give it a perfect period look.

The current owner has renovated it beautifully, not as a flip but as his own personal home, with lots of extra touches. First of all, there’s a new roof, new windows, AC, plumbing and electrical. Then he combined the kitchen and living room into one big space. The kitchen is very high end looking: new appliances, granite counters, etc. There’s a great mid-century fireplace in the living area.

There are two bedrooms. They are both a little small (the whole home is only 1,100 square feet.) The bathroom is mostly original and in great shape—one of those old midcentury baths with yellow and maroon tile.

Fortunately, there’s an easy way to add a master suite. On one side of the home is a great covered porch, original to the home, that faces a very nice enclosed patio with a fountain. This could easily be converted to a master bedroom, and behind is a large laundry and closet that could be reconfigured as the bath.

The home is set on a lot and a half, with a big fenced back yard. The price is $219,000. The home is unique and the price, considering all the improvements, sounds very good to me.
