Building on the success of its event in our neighbor to the north earlier this year, the organizers of the St. Pete Grilled Cheese Festival are coming to Sutton Park in Palmetto this Saturday, Aug. 20, from 11 a.m.-6 p.m., and lovers of cheese and bread are not going to want to miss out.

Yup, that's a lobster grilled cheese.

Featuring specialty grilled cheese sandwiches from a bevy of food trucks, as well as a variety of dessert offerings (because seriously, what goes better with grilled cheese than a rich dessert?), the Manasota Grilled Cheese Festival is free to the public and will have air-conditioned, pet-friendly tents available for visitors to hang out and eat, a full liquor bar and live entertainment from Reverend Barry & Funktastic Soul featuring The Hellacious Horns, and Jah Movement Reggae Band with host DJ Anthony.

Best of all, the event benefits a good cause: Wheels 4 Purple Hearts, a local nonprofit that customizes wheelchairs for disabled veterans.

All the details are still being finalized, but here's a peek at some of the eats: grilled Wisconsin brick cheese, beef brisket and peppered bacon from Riverside Rollin' Smoke; cheesecake from Sol's NYC Delicatessen; ice cream from Lickity Splits; Cuban-style grilled cheese with ham, roasted pork and pickles from Pipo's Cuban Cafe; macaroni and cheese, fried chicken, and grilled cheese with pulled pork from Heavy's Food Truck; grilled cheese shrimp po' boys from Holloway BBQ;  Maine lobster grilled cheese from Got Lobstah?; ghost pepper grilled cheese with sauteed onions, banana peppers and sweet chili sauce from Clancy's Irish Sports Pub; and much more.
