The Amish Baking Co.

Amish Baking Co. has gained a local following for its sweet, pillowy, big-as-your-head glazed doughnuts, but they also serve up an equally tasty (and massive) sourdough pretzel, made from scratch right in ABC's truck. The result is a buttery, salty rope of dough that's totally addictive. And pro tip: if this sounds good to you, get thee to Phillippi Farmhouse Market today or to Central Sarasota Farmer's Market on Saturday; the truck closes for the season after this week.

Geier's Sausage Kitchen

You may already know that Geier's, the Germany specialty food store on the South Trail, serves up a mean lunch--and, it turns out, their pretzels are no exception. Geier's are made in the traditional Bavarian style from a recipe that's been around since the 1700s; we recommend grabbing a jar of mustard or another tasty condiment from Geier's well-stocked pantry shelves and enjoying your pretzel at one of the tables out front. 

Mandeville Beer Garden

There's not much better than settling into one of the picnic tables at Mandeville Beer Garden with an ice-cold beer and one of MBG's small plates while you enjoy a balmy Florida evening. The pretzel, in particular, is a standout; it's doughy and dense, but super soft, and served with delicious honey mustard and beer-cheese dipping sauces.

Jennings Provisions

Jennings Downtown Provisions' jumbo soft pretzel lives up to its name: it's the size of plate and served with salad, sausage, mustard and garlic butter, and topped off with balsamic drizzle--totally shareable and filling. Our recommendation: head to Jennings for its happy hour, which includes wine and discounts on craft and bottled beers.
