Holiday Gift Guide: Spirits of the Season
Create good cheer with these holiday cocktails.
A holiday cocktail can add festive spirit to any event. Nobody knows that better than Maeve Persquera, the national food and beverage director of Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, whose enviable job includes testing and selecting signature cocktails for the restaurants every Christmas season. We persuaded Persquera to part with the recipes for Fleming's two top creations this year--the Haute Holiday and Merry Mint Spice. Vibrant and colorful, they taste as dazzling as they look, and they're so simple to make you can easily enjoy them at your own holiday gatherings.
Haute Holiday
1/2 oz. Quady Elysium (Muscat dessert wine)
12 oz. St. Germain elderflower liqueur
4 oz. Mionetto Prosecco
Serve in a champagne flute garnished with a Luxardo cherry.
Merry Mint Spice
1 1/2 oz. Gentleman Jack whiskey
1 oz. Domaine De Canton
2 oz. POM juice
1/2 oz. simple syrup
8 fresh mint leaves
In a Boston shaker, muddle 8 fresh mint leaves with the simple syrup to release the mint aromas. Add ice and Gentleman Jack, Canton and POM juice. Shake vigorously. Strain into a bucket glass over ice. Garnish with a mint sprig.
