The annual UN Women USA Gulf Coast Chapter's "Through Women's Eyes" international film festival will take place from March 6-8, 2020. After collaborating with the Sarasota Film Festival for 10 years, the 2020 festival will be produced as its own stand-alone event, with an opening night party, emerging filmmakers showcase and a "Fabulous Filmmakers" reception. This year, the festival will also incorporate International Women’s Day (IWD) into its programming. IWD, celebrated for more than 100 years in as many countries, highlights the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The UN Women USA Gulf Coast Chapter, which was founded in 1993 to educate and advocate for gender equality, is one of only a few local organizations that celebrate IWD.
