On Monday, the Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society announced its first show of the season, which can be viewed in its entirety on the society's website. Ten artists were awarded with prizes and honorable mentions.

First prize ($500) goes to Kris Parins of Sarasota for "High Desert Hike"; second prize ($400) goes to Jenny Medved of Sarasota for "Sorcha"; and third prize ($300) goes to Jacquie Clark of Bradenton for "Orchid Pitcher."

Tanya Davis of Venice received the Excellent in Transparent Watercolor award ($250) for her work, "Koi Filigree." Three merit awards ($100 each) went to artists William Perry of Lakewood Ranch for "Izzy," Lyna Knight of Lithia for "Determination" and Kerry Stratton Waltz of Clearwater for "Keep Off the Dunes."

Honorable mentions went to artists Susan Wiley from St. Petersburg and Graciela Giles and Gwen Kodad from Bradenton.
