Alexis Connolly began her medical career as a surgical technologist in 2013, instantly falling in love with the dynamic and challenging environment of the operating room. The daily variety and opportunity to work closely with some of the brightest minds in the medical field were exhilarating. However, once surgery was complete, Alexis heard very little about her patients' recovery. This lack of ongoing patient connection left her wanting more.

Driven by a desire to play a more integral role in her patients' journeys, both before and after surgery, Alexis pursued a career as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). Determined to expand her impact on patient care, she earned a Masters Degree in Nursing from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences.

Today, as a board certified family nurse practitioner with a sub specialty in orthopedics, Alexis serves as the director of operations of Connolly Orthopedics, a clinic she owns with her husband, orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Brendon Connolly. As a nurse practitioner, she sees patients at Connolly’s Bradenton and Arcadia locations. 

Alexis is also currently the administrator at Florida Surgical Suites, a multi-specialty outpatient ambulatory surgical center where she oversees the day to day operations and management of the company. 

In addition to all of her professional roles, Alexis is the proud mother of three young children, Caelen (5), Kannon (3), Kaci (1) and two stepsons, Declan and Kieran.
