As President and CEO of Girls Inc. of Sarasota County since 2015, Angie Stringer has been recognized multiple times for her passionate leadership and commitment to its mission. That is to empower girls (ages five to 24) to be self-confident, responsible, and well-rounded individuals so they grow up to be Women of Influence themselves. 

Two of those future influencers are Shayla White and Zuleima Martinez. Shayla is currently a freshman at Lipscomb University, studying Family Science. Zuleima just graduated from the State College of Florida and will be transferring to the University of South Florida Tampa in the fall, where she will continue her progress towards a degree in Communications.

When they aren’t students themselves, Shayla and Zuleima are giving back to the girls who are following in their footsteps. They both work at Girls Inc. where they facilitate the programming that they received while growing up.

For almost 50 years, Girls Inc. has been creating a ripple effect of girl power, and it shows no signs of stopping. With a strong, smart, and bold leader – and a generation of growing girls behind her – it’s just hitting its stride.
