Kendra Simpkins knows first-hand the confusion, darkness and pain arising from military trauma. As a former Army Intelligence Analyst she also struggled to find adequate care through the Veterans Health Administration (VA) after being honorably discharged with a service-connected injury. 

Seeking outside resources, she began to heal and went on to earn a Master’s of Science in Social Work from New York City’s Columbia University. Once she became  a practicing Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Kendra realized the inadequacy of mental health services for those with military-related trauma, and became determined to help her fellow service members.

Kendra founded Operation Warrior Resolution (OWR), a 501c3 nonprofit, in January 2018, and built it into one of the leading providers of mental health care in our local area. Her military experience gives her a profound understanding of the unique challenges faced by veterans, and provides insight to designing programs that are tailored to address these specific needs in a space that’s inclusive for healing. 

As a subject matter expert in neuroscience, combat-related trauma, PTSD, and global health practices, she combines Eastern practices with advanced Western practices. This holistic focus not only addresses the mental health of veterans, but also their physical, social and spiritual well-being for a renewed sense of purpose, a feeling of belonging and becoming a powerful agent of change.
