For 45 years, SPARCC has operated as a women-led organization dedicated to serving the community. It supports survivors of domestic and sexual violence through comprehensive services and an unwavering commitment to their journey of well-being.

SPARCC’s current team of women leaders believes in teamwork, innovation, and strong communication to facilitate high-quality services. They consistently strive to create a culture that removes barriers, promotes equitable access, and fosters connectedness.

Beyond immediate support, SPARCC is committed to breaking the cycle of violence through community outreach designed to raise awareness, educate about the signs of abuse, and promote healthy relationships. By engaging with schools, workplaces, and various community groups, their efforts strengthen the social fabric, ensuring a safer and more supportive environment for everyone.

With an outreach center in downtown Sarasota, satellite offices in Venice, North Port, and Arcadia, and an Emergency Shelter (with pet kennel) operating 365 days a year, SPARCC stands ready to assist survivors and their children at every step of healing and beyond.

Additional services include: 24-hour helpline, advocacy, safety planning, children’s assessments, 24-hour hospital response, therapy, legal services, economic empowerment, support groups (with childcare), housing stability, access to clothing and household items from SPARCC Treasure Chest, and community education.

All programs and services are free and confidential. If you or someone you know needs assistance, please call the SPARCC helpline at 941.365.1976.
