You Won't Miss the Alcohol in Sage's Highly Sippable 'Nogroni'
You've heard of the Negroni—but how about a "Nogroni"? For this non-alcoholic take on the classic Italian cocktail (made with gin, Campari and vermouth), Cliseria Padilla-Flores, bar manager at downtown Sarasota's Sage, starts with non-alcoholic gin, non-alcoholic orange liqueur, and house-made sweet "vermouth"—a combination of non-alcoholic red wine, herbs, spices and bitterroot that mimics the flavor of traditional sweet vermouth.
You can choose to infuse your non-alcoholic red wine with anything, making it a versatile ingredient for all your holiday-themed party needs. Padilla-Flores recommends letting it sit for a day or two, then lightly sweetening with your choice of sweetener—honey is a favorite at Sage.
