The Spice Boys food truck has been an essential part of Sarasota's culinary scene since the day it debuted in 2019, with a small but powerful collection of dishes that draw on flavors from the Middle East. Later this year, the team behind the truck—Steven and Florence Schmitt and Carl Kolber—will grow its Sarasota footprint, with a new restaurant in The Landings.

The fast-casual eatery will feature some of the truck's established favorites, like its turmeric fried chicken sandwich and falafel pita tacos, but the menu will grow, as well, with more vegan offferings and desserts in the works. The restaurant will be open seven days a week, with a look that resembles the truck's neon-floral design.

“We’re locals to the area and The Landings is our neighborhood shopping center, so this location was extremely attractive to us,” Florence Schmitt said, according to a press release. “We couldn’t miss this opportunity to serve our neighbors and offer everyone an enjoyable, comfortable place to spend time and eat food that is healthy and different. It also felt very fitting that we make our restaurant debut at a time of exciting change for The Landings.”

Look for the restaurant to open by late summer.
