The Original Wolfie’s & Rascal House opened last Thursday—only to close its doors two days later. An email from the company’s team read, “We have decided to temporarily close our doors in order to welcome more dedicated and passionate staff into our Wolfie’s & Rascal House family. Our aim is to ensure that every visit is as iconic and seamless as the first.”

The Jewish deli-style restaurant, located in the old Overton space in the Rosemary District, is led (but not owned) by well-known Sarasota chef Sol Shenker.

“Our goal is to create a warm, welcoming, lively atmosphere, just like the traditional delis,” Shenker said in a previous press release. “We do this for the love of the food—the highest quality pastrami, brisket, bagels and lox—and now we have the privilege of doing it for the love of our community because it makes people happy.”

The restaurant’s representatives have not established a reopening date at this time.

The Original Wolfie's & Rascal House will be located at 1420 Boulevard of the Arts, Sarasota. For more information, click here.
