The Bradenton Area is preparing to roll out the red carpet this May as the Bradenton Area Film Commission is pleased to announce the schedule of events for the first-ever film festival to debut in the area: the Bradenton Arts Movieville Film Festival, a celebration of film and the arts, taking place May 8 through May 18 throughout the area.

The event will feature an array of international and national independent films and will also showcase the work of local producers and incorporate art and music to create a sensational arts experience in the historic downtown Bradenton area.

Movieville will present screenings of Award winning films straight from Sundance and more, such as “Mother of George” a poetic and moving feature by Andrew Dosunmu (Restless City) starring Danai Gurira (Walking Dead and The Visitor).“The Enemy” featuring Jake Gyllenhall will be shown as well as ” Paloma”, starring Steven Bauer of “Ray Donavan” who will be present at all the festival’s events.

Film screenings will take place May 16, 17 and 18 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at the Manatee Performing Arts Center, located at 502 3rdAvenue West in Bradenton. The cost is $15.00 per day for an All Day Access Pass.
